IMHO Tanith Lee deserves to be more popular than the likes of Neil Gaiman or Anne Rice or most of the contemporary urban fantasy/PNR writers. IMO like many other short story collections the quality of stories might be uneven but all of them are beautifully written & the good ones are amazing.
