Fun mystery from the point of view of the detective's dog, Chet. I loved Quinn's use of the Chet as an unreliable narrator. Chet's poor understanding of certain human concepts, tendency to get easily distracted by snacks and balls, and habit of falling asleep during important conversations made th...
Chet failed K-9 school (of course the fault of a cat) and now works with Bernie Little in the private sector as one half of the Little Detective Agency. The dog-as-narrator is done well, and does not seem too over the top (as long as you buy into the whole talking dog thing). Although Chet tells t...
4 1/2 starsThis is a comic mystery told adorably from the point of view of Chet the dog. Being a dog and all, Chet has a different way of looking at things and tells the story with lots of pauses for “ahhh’s” (hooray, head scratch), and “thump thumps” (uncontrollable tail wag). He gets distracted ...

Get used to saying it, because once you read this book, you'll be saying it a lot to others who haven't read it yet.Chet's a dog. Bernie's a schlub. They're a team, crime solving magic of a team. In a mystery world dominate...

I don't read...
I'm a dog lover, so I easily fell into this book because it's written from the dog's point of view - distractions and all. I loved that part. The story was two-bit mystery, made more interesting by the perspective of Chet and his resulting loyalty to his master. In fact, Chet himself played into ...
Ok - I LOVED this book....an excellent voice for the dog community! I just wish Bernie had as much personality as Chet, then it would have been beyond perfect. I hope this develops into a successful series as well. Fans of The Art of Racing in the Rain and mysteries are going to devour this book!
