The text itself is a work of art of the highest order, but this is one of the weakest Norton Criticals--very thin, light on interpretive essays and contextual materials, but including a relatively large proportion of items about the narrative in theatre & cinema--which has some intrinsic interest as...

I really liked this. Though it was hard to understand at first due to the peculiar writing style, the story itself was interesting and very ... creepy. And it did manage to scare me, which only a few selective books manage to do. I know this may sound weird, but I just loved the dark and menacing th...

The frame is a bit outdated, but the story is still creepy as ever.

I'll be honest with you: this book was not entirely what I was expecting. For one thing, I had no idea that it was short. Classic tale of terror. Probably would have enjoyed it more if I had not been exposed to so many other variations of the story previously. Audio read by Scott Brick.

Pretty much the actual story but with wishbone as the narrator. Nothing tremendously different or added to it.

It's too bad that the ending of this story is so well known, if the plot and ending hadn't been spoiled by the MPAA and society at large, the tension would have been incredible. Despite that, it was a fun book to read and still suspenseful. It's a quick read, it moves along fast like good movie and ...

Well-known story but I never actually read it before. Not sure what I thought about the format. Some suspense leading up to the final chapters, but in the end Stevenson just lays out the entire story in summation. Had a very "super-villain reveals world-domination plan" sense. Without the world ...
