Hmm...friends ratings are all over the board for this one (much like my ratings for Maxfield books). The Japanese element worries me, though. I always worry when Asian elements are included... I'm always worried it'll be very weeaboo D:Post-give up EtA:I can't do this. I can't go on. Perhaps one day ...
Funny, sweet and enough action to keep them boys on the run. Rory is a charming Southern gentlemen who even at a moment of great embarrassment never forgets his fine manners. Love that. Cool under pressure and utterly the knight in shining armor given after being kicked and dumped!Yamane is gorgeous...
This is a little different to other books by this author that I have read (I love the St Nachos series). Rory is a great character - honest, loyal, a true southern gentleman. Yamane is unique. There is action, drama, humour, lots of loving and a terrific grandma! 3.5 stars.
I really seem to be one of the minority with this book. It was not my thing, at all. The dialogue fell flat and the feel of the story was not for me. Ran. Eh. He was alright I guess... Could very easily live without him and the whole Rory mistaking him for a girl thing. Rory was just Meh, it my eyes...
2.5This was...different. I found myself liking Ran more than I did Rory because I didn't really understand where Rory's head was at in this book. It was definitely a readable story. I did want to see how things worked out but the gay for you storyline I found didn't work for me for most of it. Cute,...
3-3.5 stars. I liked this book, but not as much as I expected to. The characters were interesting and felt very real with the foibles and eccentricities of real life. What didn't work for me was the way this book read very much like a romantic suspense. The "on the run" theme just got very distra...
The plot of this book and the behavior of the characters is so... improbable that this story has taken on the sheen of the vaguely ridiculous. But here's the thing, I really enjoyed it. I can't even explain why, I shouldn't be encouraging this sort of preposterousness, but it was so, so fun to read....
I wasn’t sure about this story I didn’t think I’ll enjoy it but fortunately it was better than I expected. It was hard to decision to rate it as OK or I like it. I didn’t understand why Ran would fell in love with Rory. Why? I can understand why he wanted to sleep with him but felt in love so soon?...
What an interesting book.In so many ways, I felt that this was like an art film. The author has an unique voice and she does not always write the plot in the stereotypical "romance" fashion and you as the reader have to just roll with it. Sometimes that means that some readers might feel betrayed ...
