I really wanted to like this but I found it slow, too many long drawn out descriptions of characters motivations and their pasts. I disliked every single character except for the dog.

This was my first book by Harper and it won't be my last. I liked her writing style and the story was great. The pacing I liked as well a nice built up to a stormy climax.
