I was very disappointed that Ethan died in Hard Bitten. As frustrated as I was about that, I have read other books where characters that I loved were killed off (i.e. Kisten in the For a Few Demons More and Matalina in Black Magic Sanction by Kim Harrison). In about the middle of the book, it took a huge nose dive into bordeom. It took me forever to get past it. The book picks back up again in the last fourth of the book.
