And it's not just the fact that I'm knitting. I'm finding half of this interesting - the half that actually revolves around The Metal Men and their robotic enemies - and the half that revolves around Dr. Will Magnus, his lady love, and all the other humans... kinda boring. I'm charmed by the art...
And i kinda get it. He's 'relatable.' Because he's, y'know, human. And he created the Metal Men, so he's involved heavily with them, and he becomes the 'in.' The character readers can relate to, even while this is supposed to be about The Metal Men. If I wanted to read 'Dr. Will Magnus Fai...
Normally I wouldn't even bother to say anything, but then this happened in this issue. Platinum certainly is persistent. And you guys all know how I feel about metal/meat relationships, right? (Well, there's one half too much meat, except I also want to be in one of those, thank you, so......
I love this for the Metal Men, but am still unengaged by the time travel storyline. I'm also not that interested in Magnus' love life since he insists on ignoring Platinum in favor of Helen, a human woman he's chasing after. Ugh. So frustrating! That being said, Platinum doesn't seem to mind...
And by that I mean about the Metal Men being created. The art is gorgeous: stylistic, simplistic, and just beautiful, and I can see why this is all set before the Metal Men come into play. (It's about making sure they'r never created so humanity is doomed.) I just bought this, unsurprisingly, ...
