The mining ship El Cavador is far out from Earth, in the deeps of the Kuiper Belt, beyond Pluto. Other mining ships, and the families that live on them, are few and far between this far out. So when El Cavador’s telescopes pick up a fast-moving object coming in-system, it’s hard to know what to make of it. It’s massive and moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light.El Cavador has other problems. Their systems are old and failing. The family is getting too big for the ship. There are claim-jumping corporate ships bringing Asteroid Belt tactics to the Kuiper Belt. Worrying about a distant object that might or might not be an alien ship seems…not important. They're wrong. It's the most important thing that has happened to the human race in a million years. The first Formic War is about to begin.

5.0 Earth Unaware
I feel obligated to go five stars on this one since I compulsively started the sequel about ten seconds after completing this one. It was definitely 4+ stars for me. I thought Ender's Game was great; I thought Speaker for the Dead was a mess; and that's where I gave up on the author. When I read...

3.0 Orson Scott Card & Aaron Johnston - "W przededniu"
“Saga Endera” to bardzo mocno eksploatowane uniwersum. Po genialnej, absolutnie wspaniałej, wybitnej “Grze Endera” Orson Scott Card napisał około mnóstwa kolejnych części, mniej lub bardziej powiązanych z samym Enderem. Filozoficzne dalsze dzieje bohatera, następnie pokaz towarzyszy Endera, którzy p...

Earth Unaware gets a solid 4 Stars as a SciFi YA adventure despite some minor distractions. This fills in the one big area missing in the Ender Saga, how it all began. We already know what the result of first contact is going to be but the story is exciting, nontheless. Several of the heroes are you...

A decent enough entry in the Ender saga. I would have preferred that all the various characters and plot points got tied together more before ending the book. All the MOPs backstory was a waste of time, briefly introducing Mazer Rackham and then booting him offstage. We know we'll see him again, bu...
