Layton brings unusual realism to Regency romance as two people who were virtually strangers when they married discover what marriage means. Very interesting story, very well written. This is a follow-up to Layton's "C" series, but can be read independently.

Bride Enchanted was surprisingly enchanting, and definitely a book I am glad that I have had the opportunity to read. With Edith Layton sometimes I get drawn into the stories, and there are times where I have a hard time staying with it. Thankfully this was one of those, that I was completely drawn ...

Five loosely connected stories, somewhat tied together in the last one with a thoughtful note on the cyclical nature of love. Not Layton's best work (it's more a 3.5 than a 4), but I was struck by the final story; you don't see many romances about people who've been happily married for years, for o...

My rating is based only on Mary Balogh's "The Wassail Bowl" which is pure magic.

If all romance anthologies were as good as this one, I would read them more often. With one exception (Patricia Rice's writing did not impress me) these were delightful stories. Carla Kelly's is the stand-out, showing a lively, sure-handed way with words that makes me wonder why on earth I haven't ...

The story begins in 1498 as That Upstart Henry Tudor (can you tell I don't like him?) maintains his hold on the crown despite the multiple pretenders claiming to be one of the lost princes in the tower - including the latest claimant Perkin Warbeck. Lucas Lovat returns from an extended tour of Europ...

I really enjoyed this regency romance of two people with pasts that haunt them into adulthood. Lord North has passed his life without a care in the world, wearing the mask of a joker but hiding behind it so well it fools all those around him even Amanda whose life hasn't been a bed of roses due to...

I liked this book very much. It's a very sweet love story, with a few mystery twists near the end, very fast pacing and heart-warming. The hero was so tender and caring, the heroine though not perfect was not stupid or hauty either. She is eager to learn from her mistakes and become a better person ...
