Eiichiro Oda began his manga career at the age of 17, when his one-shot cowboy manga Wanted! won second place in the coveted Tezuka manga awards. Oda went on to work as an assistant to some of the biggest manga artists in the industry, including Nobuhiro Watsuki, before winning the Hop Step Award for new artists. His pirate adventure One Piece, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1997, quickly became one of the most popular manga in Japan.

"I will die when people forget about me."I loved it. Tony Tony Chopper's hard past and his present. The loss of the man, who was like a father to him. This was very emotional.But I don't feel so sad about it because I know he's going to be happy again with his new friends.

I vastly prefer the anime of this arc to the manga (though the manga is quite a bit shorter) but now I can appreciate this a bit more. Brook and Luffy are still tied for my favorites though I love how each of the crew does something really important on this island. Still, I hate watching them battle...

This volume focuses on some great one-on-one battles! And what fights they are! They really put some of the favorite characters through some rigorous tests. While the overall plotline may seem slower, to me the action is so well done it is hard to notice. Also, even through these battles we see ...

Fishman Island, we've been waiting a lllllllooooooooooonnnnnngggg time for this. We get to see a hint of Luffy's new found powers, I look forward to really seeing it in action. Cami's back, though I hope we'll see Jimbei and Hachi soon. The princes look awesome and just when you think that just once...
