I just finished up reading the second book in the Inheritance Cycle. I found Eldest to be a lot like Eragon in that it was a very long book that too a very long time to get exciting. I was so bored with the book that I put it down for about 3 months and picked it back up a few weeks ago to finish it...
Eldest was amazing, unveiling secrets that completely floored me. I can't wait to get started on the new one. If you have read Eragon, Eldest is a must read. It's amazing that such a young man imagined all of this and was able to translate his vision into such a well written book.
I don't know, this book was one big meh for me. Eragon's trainig grows boring very quickly, how the pains in his back are solved is an anti-climax, Arya is still playing hard to get and I didn't really care for Roran's chapters; that could have been a story he would tell Eragon after he heroicly kil...
This book wasn't too much better than Eragon. The characters got more fleshed out; however, the plot was much to be desired. The situation with the new rider was quite predictable, as was the return of Galbatorix's army to Carvahall. I think it's time to read something a little more serious.
It was pretty good. Long and could have used some editing. I was frequently bored. It also focused quite a bit on Eragon's brother, Roran, and he was kinda lame. Epic fantasy. It's all coming together.
A good sequel although still a little slow moving until you get to the end. I really do enjoy this series. I can see where Paolini was inspired by other fantasy authors I have read.
I've been curious about these books, since they've been such bestsellers, and are already being made into movies. However, when I saw a co-worker reading one of them, and asked her how it was, she said "Eh. Not so good, actually."And, I'd have to agree.Admittedly, this was the second in a series, so...
Again, it's been forever since I read this book so I don't remember much. There was more description in this book than in Eragon, which isn't good. It seems like the longer this series lasts, the more description Paolini adds. This book kind of ruined Murtagh for me. He was my favorite character in ...
This is the second in the Inheritance Trilogy (the first is Eragon, from which the movie was made). I enjoy these books a lot. I'm very impressed with Paolini's writing, especially since he's so young. Many reviewers of this book seem to think the series draws too much from Lord of the Rings, Harry ...
