5.0 Elijah of Buxton
This is a very powerful book. I liked Elijah's 'fragile,' kind, uncertainty, even as he tried to act grown up. 4.0 Elijah of Buxton
I really liked this book a really nicely done historical fiction. Elijah is the first child born in the former slave community of Buxton in Canada. This book is all about his adventures with his friend Scooter. It always deals with the running of a community and what it means to be free.
