A retelling of Faust, with a young demonologist attempting the classic three wishes, and an unfortunate Rincewind trying to explain why he can't provide them. My favorite part is the Helen of Troy bit. Possibly a good place for a younger reader to start, a theory not yet tested.Inter library loan.
Sweet. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Literally, of course. Boredom used as a more severe punishment than Sisyphus' or Prometeus' - a nice touch. Oddysey an ancestor of Rincewind. Death. And bees.I love it.

I have not been a huge fan of the books in this series featuring Rincewind but this story was a lot of fun. Listened to the audio read by Stephen Briggs.
Another fun Terry book. I really enjoyed it although it was a bit less clever than some of his books. The Faust reference and comment on history and how the world was made was great though. Maybe just a bit too short.
