A retelling of Faust, with a young demonologist attempting the classic three wishes, and an unfortunate Rincewind trying to explain why he can't provide them. My favorite part is the Helen of Troy bit. Possibly a good place for a younger reader to start, a theory not yet tested.Inter library loan.

Sweet. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Literally, of course. Boredom used as a more severe punishment than Sisyphus' or Prometeus' - a nice touch. Oddysey an ancestor of Rincewind. Death. And bees.I love it.

Meh. While there are some laughs to this one, I simply couldn't get into this version of Faust in the Discworld. Pratchett's take on "I want to be immortal" wish is priceless!

This one was all fluff, no bite, which was especially disappointing because it had The Luggage in it.

I have not been a huge fan of the books in this series featuring Rincewind but this story was a lot of fun. Listened to the audio read by Stephen Briggs.

Another fun Terry book. I really enjoyed it although it was a bit less clever than some of his books. The Faust reference and comment on history and how the world was made was great though. Maybe just a bit too short.

I loved The Color of Magic, book #1 of the Discworld series. It was everything I want in a book, with humor and silly puns and delightful characters. Then I began to wait and wait and wait. I felt compelled (...
