She's strong, she's fierce, she's brave. She has a backbone & brass balls to go with it! She's Kelsea Raleigh Glynn- the Queen of Tearling. She is one kick-ass heroine! I think I like her so much because she was ballsy and courageous from page one. She's never had a fragile, weak, prissy, dependent ...

There's a social commentary hidden somewhere in these pages. It must be there, for I conclude that subtext is why the book is so popular. Kelsea has become even vainer in this book than in the first. So much so that her magic has interpreted beauty to be the one true desire of her heart, thus makes ...

This feels like a debut author novel. There are many pages of long blocks of text. One fact is established as certain— this is a utopia gone wrong. What I liked best about the main character, Kelsea, is her appreciation for books. She offers some diversity in that she is plain looking and overweight...

Hmm, this was an interesting one. It had all the elements I like: Good female characters. Magic, some political intrigue and was fully readable. The story line was good and I liked the world created overall....but...it did not fully click with me: Kelsea. I hate saying this because it sometimes...

This reader's personal opinion, ©2015, all rights reserved, not to be quoted, clipped or used in any way by Google Play, amazon.com or other commercial booksellers* I wavered back and forth between rating ★★★½☆ and ★★★★☆. ★★★★☆ won because this uncomplicated book grabbed me nonstop. There's not a...

I could have easily read this book in one sitting. Such is life.....I didn't get to. However, in this last, very rough month, falling into The Tear and Queen Kelsea's story was a grand escape and adventure. Just when you think a series can't get any better, it does, it does, IT DOES!!! Finding out ...

Just excellent. The most satisfying book I've read so far this year. Questions raised in Queen of the Tearling are answered here and more questions raised for the final book in the trilogy. The plot twists are well done. The foreshadowing is there, and when the twist comes, the reaction is "of co...

You can find this, and other reviews, on my blog. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Invasion of the Tearling continues the trend of having really great things mixed with really terrible things. Another content warning: this one gets quite a bit more explicit about Kels...

You can find this, and other reviews, on my blog. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I’m not big on spoilers, but I do think two things need to be clarified before going any further. The first is the intended audience. This book is marketed as YA, and it is YA, but it i...
