I have not read book one in this series and listened to this as an unabridged audio borrowed from the library (love my library!). More of 3.5, maybe a touch higher. Parts were good and flowed nicely, but it didn't all mesh and it wasn't all developed. But fun and light, with occasional really funny moments. Young to mid teen appropriate.
