In 1907, King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra used their royal prerogative and commissioned Peter Carl Fabergé to create a carved bejeweled menagerie of all the animals at Sandringham, their vast Norfolk country estate. This collection, the largest collection of Fabergé hardstone animal carvings, here reemerges in its full radiance, drawing on both British royal and Russian archives. With its 150 photographs, sketches, and documentary material, Fabergé's Animals offers a unique view into the artistry of the man who was once the world's most elite jeweler.

A simply gorgeous book to go through. Not very long -- about 120 pages, but the photographs make the cost worth it. Any fan of late Victorian/Edwardian art should check it out.
