As an aging hippie, Mona discovers Facebook as a way to connect to past and present friends. She loves to cook, and has collected recipes all of her life. Each recipe tells a story that she wants to share with others. Some recipes date back to her life as a young flower child protesting the Vietnam war. Some relate to the love of her life, a rock star she spends her life chasing. But, many were enjoyed by her daughter and the three sisters that Mona helped to raise when their own parents disowned them. The story follows Mona as she experiences life from Woodstock, to parenthood, through career challenges, and the loss of her loved ones. Through it all, she had her recipes. She continues to honor the memories of her life, and of those she has loved, both living and those who are no longer with us. She has done this through her cooking. She dreams of starting a cooking blog of her own, with an even larger fantasy of eventually publishing a cookbook. She uses her recipes to connect with her past as she journeys through the present, and into the future, brought together by the food that has formed so much of her life.
