This was amazing, it made me "uncomfortable" at times while reading it, but that is not a good word to describe how I felt. It's similar to feeling what I did while reading American Psycho, but different as well.

I tried and tried to read this book and got about 3/4 of the way through. I think I may have understood and enjoyed the book more if I had been stoned when I tried.

I was absolutely in thrall to Thompson my junior and senior years in high school, a steadily fading thrall that dissolved entirely some time ago. Yeah, it explains a lot, doesn't it.

One of my favorite all time books that I have read multiple times. It is a hilarious jaunt through the counter-culture dope scene. It is told with a style that immediately puts you there with intense visualization. Word of warning...this is a love it or hate it book.
