Why do I keep hoping that Ms. Hamilton will turn this series around. I loved the Anita Black books but the latest ones have just been worthless for me. IF you have a need to keep up with the series I would recommend borrowing from your library. At only 158 pages, and this hardcover costing $16.95 t...

Flirt was a surprise Anita book similar to Micah, shorter in length, with a focus on Anita's relationships, not the broader supernatural community. Also, there's a return to Anita's necromancer roots, which was nice.So what's up is there are two potential clients who want Anita to raise their dead s...

Anita is back to being an animator! But that part of the story needed to be fleshed out and the whole flirt storyline needed to go away. Her animator powers are so interesting; it would be nice to have a whole, longer book dealing with that side of Anita's powers. And where is Jean-Claude? He hasn...

Continuing to read the Anita Blake books is like indulging in a high calorie, over processed, chemically laden desert. It doesn't taste very good, and is totally not worth the calories, and yet you eat the whole thing anyway.

At lunch, Anita Blake and three of her men engage in public displays of affection, and flirt with the waiter. They're being watched. When Anita goes there alone later, she's approached by two werelions, who will kill Anita's loved ones if she doesn't raise a zombie for their client - the same person...

I have gotten to the point where Anita Blake books do nothing for me. It's because everyone wants to be with her, be like her or kill her. She is all powerful and doesn't need anyone. She's Buffy, but with dark hair. And by the end of the series, I wanted to stake Buffy my own damned self. The on...

Fantastic, well done, LKH! The book was so enjoyable. It took a considerable amount of restraint to try and savor the book over a few days rather than devour it in one gulp. But I finished the book with a smile on my face. It had a perfect balance of those elements that have made Anitaland so enjoya...

I want to start off by saying that this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And it definitely wasn't as bad as it could have been. I had the lowest of hopes for this one after reading Divine Misdemeanors (★) last year so maybe that's why I liked Flirt more. Trust me though, it was nowhere near p...

This is not my favorite Anita Blake book, but I'll take it. This book is unlike any of the other Anita books (with Micah maybe as the exception). Usually in the Anita world, there is always either police work or vampires/wereanimal politics. It was just a little strange to not have any of these. ...
