This was one of my all time favorite books and after re-reading it six years later it still is. The hero's struggle with his sanity and the heroine with her life-long values were both very powerful. Quaker Maddy is intrigued by her father's mathematical partner the rogue Duke of Jervaulx.

Wow! Intense read - but so well worth it! Amazing how the author created a love story w/no verbal communication from the H's part, but some how the H&h find their way toward one another. Not only that, the author had to rely to us readers the two-part communication of the H - what he was thinking...

Maddy looked away from him, watching the cavorting actresses as they rushed here and there about the stage, warbling like delirious larks.

I didn't finish this book. I think I got about 1/4 of the way through... it was well written and charming, but unfortunately I lost my interest in reading it. I'll try to come back to it another day.

I've read this book so many times over the years, I've lost count. That's how good it is. I consider it one of the finest & most unforgettable historical romances I've ever read. Forget the heroine, Maddy - this book owes all its greatness to its leading man, Christian, the Duke of Jervaulx.

Ah, yes, it deserves its acclaim. Funny - though I had heard about this for ages, I never knew the plot basics. Not sure I would have picked it up knowing it was about a stroke victim and the Quaker who loves him. But I am glad I did. Not the most romantic of romances, but definitely epic and full...

I bought Flowers from the Storm after reading about it so often on the Amazon discussion forums. Basically, I think it's a very good book...that I probably won't read ever again. The ending is wonderful and a tearjerker, but I did not feel like I could relate to the characters in any way. I'm not sa...
