I loved Fool and somehow I knew I would. As soon as I opened the book cover and I saw the description which read, “This is a bawdy tale. Herein you will find gratuitous shagging, murder, spanking, maiming, treason, and heretofore unexplored heights of vulgarity and profanity, as well as nontradition...

I'm a little dubious about Moore - while I enjoyed Lamb, I didn't feel the need to read anything else by him - but this gets some recommendations from friends and the idea of double-featuring it with the Shakespeare play sounds too fun to pass up.

This is my favorite Christopher Moore. I loved the main character, loved the Shakespearean setting and characters, enjoyed the plot ... I just enjoyed the heck out of it.

Another fun tale by Mr. Moore about heinous @$#%ery most foul :) Goes a bit slowly at times, but Pocket is a likeable narrator and there are many laugh-aloud moments.

It took four hundreds years but now we know the truth.King Lear is a comedy.I always thought Bill S. was laughing at us behind our back as those snobby professors lectured on the dark tragedy of this most gruesome of plays. Fortunately Christopher saw through it all and treated us to the real story ...

Hmm. This was such a departure from Christopher Moore's other books that I'm honestly not sure what I thought of it. I didn't hate it, but I certainly wouldn't read it again. I think it's more the language he used. I'm fine with swearing and the like, but to have to read about sperm over and ove...
