PJV Quickie: In Foreplay, Sophie Jordan has taken the bad-boy/good girl trope and given it a nice little twist. It was a quick read and I stayed interested in the story - normally I read by switching between two books at a time but I didn't touch my 2nd book the entire time I was reading Foreplay....
This story was so much better than what I was expecting! Okay, you might be thinking, “so, we have a virgin being set up to ‘learn the ropes’ with a ‘veteran’ before going pro”, right? Well, it might be a weeee bit like that but mostly it is sooo NOT at all like that! This story is soooo much bet...
I’m always leery about New Adult books these days, so I tend to lower my expectations when I pick one up. Add to that, I haven’t read anything from Sophie Jordan and I was definitely wary. Review: 4 ½ out of 5 starsForeplay was such a pleasant surprise, I was a little torn when I first read the synopsis about there being two guys involved but I absolutely loved the way it all played out.Nineteen year-old Pepper was such a relatable character and so easy to like with her kindness, simp...
Sometimes something mindless is what works for me. Check reason in at the start, for in this we have a girl in love with her best friend’s brother, looking to gain some experience to better that relationship that she’s so sure is going to come to life. The hero and heroine had issues to overcome and, despite the seemingly requisite lousy parents, they were smart, funny, caring lovers...
4.5 starsI try to rate things on a scale within their genres, and this is just really an excellent example of how New Adult can be done well. Great friendships among women, sexiness that isn't awkward or dumb, and really complex, lovely characters. Review to come. I loved this book.
