The more I read these, the more I love Shiro and Kenji. It's the perfect escape from my life, and the art is just clean, and the recipes are so freaking intriguing to me. I know for a fact that I don't have Shiro's impressive knife skills but I still want to give it a go. I do love their relationshi...

Remember that time I went to Japan and stopped updating this blog (and never again kept a very good update schedule)? School Live! was the anime of the moment in the Honey Toast cafe we visited in Akihabara. I remember looking at it and wondering what the heck it was about, it looked like a hap...

Although I generally enjoy Yoshinaga's works, I dragged my feet over getting this one. I didn't think a restaurant guide/slice-of-life manga featuring restaurants I'd never be able to visit would work very well for me. I ended up buying this during a moment of weakness and a nice Right Stuf sale. T...

Enjoyed the back and forth in this but felt if was a bit more of a slog than previous books. I'll probably have to re-read it at some point before reading the next one to make sure I know what's going on.

More love story/ shonen-ai than yaoi. A nice story in over-sized format.

I like yaoi mangas however I really don’t like that in this genre the sexual violence (rape) is quite often (99,5%) trivialised. “Gerard and Jacques” is good example of it. The most in this story I enjoyed Gerard’s background story.

I didn't like Tamiya as much in this one but Toudou appealed to me more. I liked the story still but I felt like Tamiya wasn't as invested in the relationship as Toudou was, even though they've been together for years, especially since Tamiya, who doesn't really show any affection or enthusiam towar...

At first I didn't like Toudou. I'm not quite sure why but he just rubbed me the wrong way. But then he started hanging out with Tamiya and I suppose the fact that he was less arrogant made him warm up to me. Tamiya on the other hand I liked from the start even if he was a bit naive and indecisive. T...

Cute. I think this is the last of the Fumi Yoshinaga backlist titles I was able to get through the Boston library system — they have a decent amount. This is lighter than Ooku and Antique Bakery. More like Gerard and Jacques -- especially as some of the characters look the same. Recommended if you l...
