I haven't read this book (this series) in five or six years, and apparently in that time, I'd forgotten all the things I loved about it. Really nice to lose myself in the story and the rich setting and the amazing characters all over again! I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of t...

Goodness, this book was totally AMAZING!!! Typically when it comes to fantasy series I get a bit bored because there isn't enough action. There was plenty in this book :D. I truly cared for each of the characters and couldn't WAIT to read what happened next. I highly recommend this book!!!!

The Alerans are not alone in this world, but their last confrontation with the Marat was nearly 15 years ago. Epic fantasy. Very different from The Dresden Files, but an equally intriguing world. It's pretty clear what will eventually happen with Tavi, but getting there promises to be an absorbing tale.Kate Reading is an expert narrator and makes this an enjoyable audiobook experience.

This was a fun read for me. No, it's not the most inventive or challenging fantasy book out there but it's still imaginative and a lot of fun. While I was reading it I commented to a friend that it reminded me of Star Wars. Not only was there a young farm boy being raised by an Aunt & Uncle (he m...

Hello once again my fellow bookworms. Now let me just get something off of my chest before I get into this. I am a Jim Butcher fan, I am a fantasy fan, and I haven’t read many modern high fantasies, partly because there aren’t many (comparatively speaking) but mostly because they are that dry and suc...

This is always one of those books (series) that I try to describe but can't quite put into adequate words. It's similar to a cross between the Roman Republic/Empire meets feudal England meets "Game of Thrones" and something else. Nonetheless, I love it as I do all of Butcher's writing. I love tha...
