For five weeks in the summer of 2014, Bill Parker played the role of Zen troubadour in The Netherlands. What he'd hoped would be a “proper tour” quickly devolved into a Blanche DuBois episode wholly dependent on the kindness of strangers, friends, and loved ones for its existence. While it wasn't party time or a day at the beach – though there was, in fact, a day at the beach – he did experience a series of what he describes as “little epiphanies” though whether they were psychological cracks or glimpses of Spirit, he still can't say. “Good Karma Cowboy: Riding The Music Into The Mystic” is not your typical “sex, drugs, and rock & roll” tour book. Originally intended as a chronicle of what Parker's friends and family saw as the culmination of a decades-long pursuit of his musical dreams, it became – like the tour itself - “a whole 'nother thing” which documents not only a musical journey but a Spiritual awakening.
