This was the first book in the Harper Connelly series. Although I liked the main character Harper, I felt the rest of the characters were shallow and undeveloped. This made it difficult to become immersed in the story and only made the weak points (such as the sloppy editing) stand out more. Howev...

I love quirky characters and stories that are totally different. I hit the jackpot with this series! As much as I love Harper and Tolliver... the truth is they're weird. This series is part mystery, part semi-paranormal with a little bit of taboo romance thrown in to boot! It's one of my favorites!

3.5 starsI started this book a long time ago and I didn't get far about half way I think. I put it down for some reason and I decided to pick it up and start again. I liked it. It has its quirks but it still an enjoyable read. I really like Harper I find her to be an unusual character, very differe...

I wanted to give this book 4 stars but figuring out pretty much the entire plot before the end kind of took away from the whole thing, it being a mystery and all. Meine Meinung.......

I actually listens to the audio version of this book for which the details are as follows:Publisher: Clipper AudioISBN: 978 14074570247 Disks / 8 Hours / Narrated by Alyssa BresnahanEver since Harper Connelly was hit by lightning she has a special gift. She is able to locate dead people and tell how...

I must admit my Roe Teagarden. I have been searching for a follow-up to that series since I finished it. Out of all CH series, the Harper Connelly series has potential but the jury is still out for me. This was good, but I don't think it had the "warmth" that I found with Roe.

Vanessa, my favorite bookseller, says Charlaine Harris is the most under rated writer today. I tend to agree with her. Harris is great coming up with these quirky characters and here's another one she adds to her long list. Harper Connelly (I love her name) can find the dead (when they're missing,...
