"Green Eggs and Ham" is a funny story about Sam-I-Am trying to convince his friend to try green eggs and ham. I would use this in first or second grade as a mentor text for persuasive or opinion writing. I would have the students decide weather they would eat green eggs and ham or not and either per...

I do not like green eggs and ham I do not like them sam-i-am. What a classic phrase that most of us already know. This book is a great read for kindergarteners, 1st graders, 2nd graders, really any grade because it is a classic. This book will be great for teaching sequencing and also could be used ...

Get your lungs ready! Green Eggs and Ham is a repetitive rhyming book about a character named Sam-I-Am who really wants his friend to try his favorite dish, green eggs and ham. I read this book during Read for America week at my placement school for first graders and they loved it. The whole thing rhymes so they love to try and remember the whole list of things that Sam will not eat green eggs and ham in. This book is perfect for all ages and all grades because it is such ...

I love Dr. Seuss books and Green Eggs and Ham is one of my favorites. This book can be used with all grade levels in elementary school. I would of course read this book during Dr. Seuss week and/or Dr. Seuss birthday. We could read this book and also make green eggs and ham in the classroom.

I would absolutely use almost all of Dr. Seuss' books in my classroom simply for the fact that they are fun and easy to read, and they tend to give kids confidence in their reading and help them to use their imaginations. I would use this book specifically to talk to younger children about the impor...

A favorite classic of students that can be used across a much broader age range than expected! Written on a dare to create a story using only 50 words, older students are given that same dare. Great for choral reading, practice in expressionism, writing, and word sorting.

Didn't like it as an adult and I doubt that I would have liked it as a child either.

Reading Green Eggs and Ham to stubborn children is definitely a preferred alternative to torture. Introducing new foods to the very young can be a gruelling task, for parent and child alike. Seuss teaches that ‘new’ doesn’t automatically mean you’ll hate it. In that respect it kind of reminds me of ...
