I really liked this book, Again Iles kept me guessing until the very end (including the ending of the book by not telling about Penn's father or what he wanted to say!). However my major gripe with this book is the violence. I don't feel it was completely necessary to go into that much graphic detai...
I wanted to give this 3.5 stars. I was hooked in the story, but the ending was disappointing; after giving so many details in the book, the end leaves us hanging.
Oh, ICK, UGH, PUKE! I am sooooo done with Greg Iles FOREVER! This thing is trash. I couldn't even give it my customary 50 to 80 pages that I usually allow a book before deciding whether or not to continue.
An excellent thriller...maybe a little more thrilling than I really like. However...what appalls me is not anything in the book, but the people reviewing it who are clearly more upset about the dog-fighting than about the abuse of women.
