Read as a kid and I remember a lot of the stories were pretty gory.

Read a few of the fairy tales when I was young, but don't remember much about them. I can vaguely recall some farmer that kills his own mother, I thought that was really funny then (yes I have always had a strange sense of humor). Definitly on my TBR-pile.
