"Giraffes can't dance," they all shout when it's Gerald's turn. But with some advice from a wise cricket, Gerald starts swaying t...

Giraffes Can't Dance is a book about Gerald the Giraffe. Other animals make fun of him when he tries to dance because he is clumsy and seems to be an ineloquent dancer. By the end of the book, Gerald believes in himself and ends up realizing that he is a beautiful dancer! All of the other animals re...

Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae is a funny story about a giraffe who is made fun of because he cannot dance. This story shows children that it is important to always have confidence because it will help you in the long run! I think that students would love this book because it is so colorful a...

I would use this book in lower elementary grades to talk about "the power of yet." Just like the giraffe in the story, he continued to practice until finally he was able to dance.

by Giles Andreae Illustrations by Guy Parker-Rees "We all can dance", he said, "when we find music that we love" This book is not really new, but it's a good one. I thought a reminder would be a good idea. Poor Gerald! His legs get tangled when he tries to dance! He is so ashamed and sad at ...

Do you love words, both old and new? If so, Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus is a good book for you. You'll be the one with a "snip-snap grin" as you flip through the pages and practice your tail spin. If movement or sound is your delight, this one has both--no need to listen while sitting tight. Kinetic...

It's witty, it's rhyme-y, its got the ABCs "K is for Kissing a Cool Kangaroo" is as funny as bee's knees. The illustrations illuminate reasons to laugh And extras objects are innumerate...look a giraffe! "N is for naughty and 'No, don't do that!" But peer at the picture, what? A tie-dyed egg gone ...

I liked Playful Little Penguins, and so did my niece and nephew, but it wasn't anything particularly special. Very standard children's fare. Certainly nothing wrong with it, but not much to write home about either.
