The Time Machine is a multi-layered, dually structured novella, with the main plot lingering on both Physicalism and philosophical supernaturalism. It is a social doom prophecy which explores a model of society on the brink of chaos, as a consequence of social injustice. From the perspective of a ...
Interesting concept, but the execution fell a bit flat (or old fashioned - it was written in 1895). Central themes, besides the minor time-travel aspect, include how the social class divide and technological innovations have altered humanity. This book provides something to think about.
I don't really read a lot of classic fiction written in the 19th to the early 20th century since I usually find those to be boring. In fact, the classics I tend to like were written in the latter half of the 20th century. Nevertheless, I decided to read a classic of Science Fiction, The Time Machine...

By this twist of fate, Greg finds himself taken in by Micah and his father, Joshua, as he recovers fr...
This is truly a classic! The description of the Morlocks and Eloi are a little sad considering they are the future of mankind. The ending left me wanting more.

We had Lace and Satin, and now I've devoured Silk. Here, we have Lucas, early 40s, a self-made millionaire, whose stoic and rigid upbr...
As I mentioned in my last post, I'd like to thank Halloween Bingo (and OB & MR) for making me read those classic novels that I'd always intended to get to "someday". This book was fantastic, and Simon Vance's excellent narration made it even better. This is definitely one I'll revisit in the futur...
