Books like this prove that graphic novels are literature. Truly.

Pod względem edytorskim "Habibi" Craiga Thompsona to prawdziwe cacko. Okładka ma przypominać skórę, ze złotymi wytłoczeniami. Po prostu piękny przedmiot na półce. A w środku? Rysunki są bogate, szczegółowe. Możemy podziwiać pustynne krajobrazy i zagracone osiedla ludzkie. Motywy zdobnicze przypom...

Rushdie's The Satanic Verses + Deepa Mehta's Water + Satrapi's Persepolis. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

I have read a few of Thompson's graphic novels and was very excited to hear about Habibi. The illustrations are top notch and I loved all the symbols and calligraphy scattered througho...

I tried, really really hard I tried, but Habibi has defeated me. I simply cannot help myself, I put Richie Rich's face on the men and Veronica's on the women. Graphic novel remains, for me, a term of art without substantive affect on my vision. To me, they're comic books, and I didn't ever like comi...
