From a distance I love this book, but when I'm reading it it's just an okay 3.5 star book. It has a twist at the end which is opposite of the movie. But if you loved Silence of the Lambs, you will enjoy this book.
I believe this ended much differently than the movie did, so since the movie wasn't just like it the differences made it better. However, I did not like the ending at all! Made me squirm knowing that that's how the story went. Ick. Ick. Ick. But the movie did get the brain scene down pretty well.
The only reason Clarice loved him was because he drugged and her and messed with her mind. I couldn't put this book down after around page 250 or so, but the beginning dragged on..
