J.L. Merrow’s book relies once more on a 1st person POV.Reading Hard Tail meant watching the world through Tim’s slightly fogged window (the man is damn clueless) and guffawing at comical situations and witty lines, while he lived his day-to-day life, nurtured his ugly duck complex, mooned over Matt...
This contemporary m/m romance was pitch perfect. Great writing, lots of wit and humor, and a romance arc that was just right. I liked both the MCs: Matt, the lovable klutz and Tim, the responsible older brother who had never let himself admit he was gay. The karate sub-plot was a little predicta...
http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/A lovely story, Hard Tail grips you smoothly and without even realizing it you find yourself in a lovely place in England with wonderful sceneries and great characters. This is the story of Tim, a young man that in a blink of an eye lost everything, or so it se...
Good-hearted, and very, very Anglo.Lenore's review sums up my thoughts perfectly, especially as relates to the dodgy particulars of the MC's sexuality, and the timidity of the sex scenes.I had my doubts about this one, no mistake. But before long artfully juxtaposed characters grew on me, even if th...
I thought this book was really fun. First off, I have to say I have a love of all things British, so this book that was so very British thrilled me from the first paragraph. Being inside Tim's head was delightfully funny. He made me laugh several times. I found all the side characters rather delight...
3.5-4 stars. Very good story. The first 20% or so started off rather slowly for me. Then 20-50% was good, and the last 50% was so engrossing that it had me racing to the finish. Overall very enjoyable.Oh, and I LOVE that Luke and Russell made an appearance! *grins* :D
I really liked the build up to the romance the author provided. My favorite character? Wolverine the cat. Just hilarious. It was the right amount of angst, drama and hilarity. I definitely recommend to anyone who's a fan of really good 'gay-for-you'
