Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens at the exact moment where the seventh book concludes: nineteen years in the future (after the Battle of Hogwarts), with Harry and wife Ginny, sending off their two eldest children to Hogwarts. Even though the book starts at this point, it quickly spins forward...

Ok...Uh...Hmm...I tried so hard to go into this with low expectations because I knew it wasn't going to be another Harry Potter book and I knew it wasn't a novel and there were other people working on it besides J.K. Rowling. I also knew this book was kind of controversial, but I didn't know much mo...

I went into this with low expectations for a few reasons (negative buzz being one of many), and sadly had them all met -- I don't think anything were exceeded. This is fan-fiction, pure and simple. Sure, it's official fan-fiction written in conjunction with Rowling -- but it's not the same series,...

Not bad. Didn't care for some things and the end felt too rushed. Would've benefitted from being a fleshed out book, instead of a playbook...

I read this book in an evening (I borrowed a friend's library copy) not realizing it was 300 pages long (that's a 5+ hr play, friends). I found the whole thing disappointing. I would still go see the play because I'm intrigued how they pull any of the magic off on stage, but the story is not good....

CONTAINS SPOILERS I can see how some people would be excited by a Harry Potter play that had Rowling heavily involved. I was not. First Rowling says she’s done with Harry Potter. Then she changes her mind. She (with the help of a team of course) creates Pottermore. I stayed up until 4am some ni...

Will write a fuller review tomorrow, after I sleep. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS!!! Very boring, uninteresting book if you've read even a single well-written Harry Potter fic. Harry's a clueless jerk, Ron's an idiot, Draco still made to suffer. Rowling continues to prop Snape and Dumb...

Where to begin? For those of you that have been reading my blog for a bit, you know that I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I watch the movies every year at Christmas, I re-read the books every few years and consider myself an avid fan. Despite all that, I was nervous about this new release. The 7 Harry P...

I was just a little bit hesitant about picking up Harry Potter and the Cursed Child because, although I love Harry Potter, I thought that the script format might take away from the story. I could not have been more wrong.Once I got going, I almost didn't even notice the format anymore and the story...
