I thought this was an enjoyable read. While I thought Daniel was a piece of shit for the way he dealt with his normal life I didn't let that distract me from the story. It is a good tale of the meltdown of society that ensues after a fundamental change occurs in approx. 1/3 of the population.
Better than Lincoln Child.I did appreciate the nihilistic commitment of the author, particularly the way the narrator's dead-end bitterness about his everyday life--the rage barely kept from bubbling up all the time--blurred neatly into the pandemic of rage which represents the "horror" event.
