It must be very difficult to write a book where the central character spends virtually the whole book pregnant. There's only so much toddling, waddling etc that I could put up with though. Alexia also seemed to be incapable of keeping on her feet. She certainly had a lot to contend with.Lord and ...
Entertaining enough, but nothing special. It might be the series fatigue that's costing these books the fourth star, or it could be the fact that they're just not as good as the first two. I admire that the author is keeping true to everything revealed in the earlier books and I have nothing against...
Tender moments, full-throttle action, creative world building, blood-and-guts, unexpected turns and surprises, a critique of manners, gadgets, zombie porcupines, an octomaton, a bevy of assassination attempts, Full Moon extravaganzas, weapons-grade pickled herring - Heartless has about everything yo...
I was kind of expecting the end of it. so the baby is like a skin-walker. Kind of.I don't really have anything to say about this one. Biffy and the Prof would be an interesting couple, I think. I considered it back in book 2 but I wasn't sure if the Prof liked men or not. Now I'm expecting the Hive ...
This would make such a rollicking moving picture. There's little sense to the plot, but I did like a heavily pregnant woman careering around London and the countryside fending off deadly machines and saving everyone.
Delightful, as always. Yes, at times, things were slower than usual, plot-wise. But Carriger makes up for it with her characters and relationships.I cannot wait for the fifth and final book in the series!
Lady Maccon is nearing the end of her time with the "infant inconvenience", and has to work out a solution to the murderous attempts on her life by the vampires, and also, a ghost informs her of a threat to the queen which she must do something about, and then her sister shows up, and turns out to b...
Very funny and full of action, with a climax that will be hard to top in future books. I found the previous book (Blameless) to be a bit meandering, but Ms. Carriger is back on track with this one. Vampires, werewolves, giant mechanical octopi, and an eight-and-a-half-month pregnant Alexia, Lady Mac...
★★★★★ This series just gets better and better. Love the detail and the wit. I feel as if I’ve gotten to know these wonderful characters (though some are infuriating!) and at the same time they keep surprising me. Ms. Carriger had me on the edge of my seat for chapters, laughing out loud, wanting ...
