I almost didn't finish this when I realised it was going to be told through the grandson reading some old diaries. It was actually a little boring to begin with but about half way I couldn't stop reading. I really had to find out how the grandfather's story ended. Very sweet.
I went into this book not knowing anything about it except it came highly recommended. They were so right. It is a lovely story and is told in such a way that it felt intimate. It is touching and romantic. I loved it.
I really enjoyed the story and strong plot, but the writing felt slightly stilted to me. Still, it was interesting, sweet and free. I look forward to reading future works by this author and seeing Zir grow.
This was a really good free read. The story involves a young gay man discovering the secret of his mysterious grandfather through reading his journals. The journal entries outline his experience as a gay man in the 1960's. Nicely done.
