This novel is really more like a diary about the author's difficulty in writing fiction, and was really not what I expected it to be. I wanted to see and hear the story about the attack on Heydrich, not just hear the author complaining about how hard it is to do just that.

An incredibly clever, fascinating, completely gripping metafictional historical novel about Reinhard Heydrich, architect of Hitler's Final Solution, and his assassination in Prague. Brilliant!

This is one of the most compelling, original and ingenious books I have read in a very long time. Highly recommended.

For the first half of the book, I did not mind the author's interjections about the research progress and such. Near the end, I found it quite distracting and a...
