Hilary Knight is the son of two accomplished artist-writers, Clayton Knight and Katherine Sturges. Hilary Knight came into his own enormous success by illustrating Kay Thompson's Eloise series, which has been a cultural touchstone for generations. He is the author-illustrator of nine children's books and the illustrator of more than 50 others. He has also produced many magazine illustrations, record album covers, and posters for Broadway musicals. Mr. Knight recently completed a mural in the turret room of the Plaza apartment of Dee and Tommy Hilfiger. He is now at work on Hilary Knight's Life in Pictures: An Illustrated Autobiography.

Am I missing something? Why is this so popular? Eloise is a terrible child. While I might be able to read this to my 2.5 year old twins and have them enjoy the illustrations, there is no way I could read it to my 5 year old without him trying to emulate her horrible behavior.
