Marvelous Hilda, and her mum, have to deal with both very tiny-scale issues, and very large-scale ones, including the time-scaling appropriate. These books have the feel of the mythology of one culture off. I'm not sure where they're meant to be set, and it all feels mostly familiar, but not quite. ...
