Rather formulaic and a tad dull. If it had been made shorter, it would have been a lot more powerful. I also knew what had happened about a third of the way through, so the ending was no surprise. If you wish to read a book with an Asperger's main character, you're a lot better off with Mark Haddon's...
This is strange book. It talks about autism child. It goe really is a novel about a boy that has Asperger Syndrome. It has goes though the life of a boy that has Asperger Syndrome and he has younger brother. Jacob is accused of murder and they end of going to trail and Jacob acts out and has outburs...
Confession time: I had no intention of ever reading a Jodi Picoult book. To me, her books were pretty much equivalent to Nicholas Sparks' books.* Formula: Mix one part "issue" with one part "sap" and one part "luuuuuurve", then swallow. If nausea occurs, try Pepto to keep it down. *Sparks' books are...

Originally published at my blog Chasing Empty PavementsRight away I noticed that this book followed the same formula as her other ones. Abnormal child, angsty sibling, overworked mother, transparent and predictable romance. Most of the time Picoult can get away with using her formula because the wri...
Not one of Jodi's best work. It was a good read and very interesting to really get into Aspergers and what it would be like. But the story in a whole was very predictable. I also found the chapters of Jacob were a bit unrealistic and too self aware from a kid with Aspergers. So it was a good read, j...
