I enjoyed first book in the series and so read this. Even though the story is good, the level of detailing is too average compared to first book.I don't think I would have understood some things clearly had I not seen the movie already, which is not the case with the first book.Overall it is average...

So far this has been my favorite book in the series. I still loved it, even though the movie was fresh in my mind. I do know now (as a fact), that the movie does not ruin the book. I knew the plot well but the greatness was all in the details. I'm moving on to Mockingjay now and it's bittersweet...

I really liked The Hunger Games, and I am so glad Catching Fire was not a disapointment.Everything that I loved about The Hunger Games is in Catching Fire. The likable protagonist (Katniss). I feel that Katniss grew a lot throughout the novel, and I appreciate that. I liked most of the characters. I...

This second book was another quick, light read. The writing was just as entertaining, and held my interest all the way through. However, some of the content was a little less interesting to me. The love triangle had too much page time in this story for my tastes. It had been introduced in the fi...

As with The Hunger Games, I'm a little bit late to the party. I also saw the film for "Catching Fire" before I read this book.I enjoyed this book more than I did the first one in the series, and significantly more than I did the film. There is so much backstory before Peeta and Katniss return to the...

The sequel to The Hunger Games is far better than anticipated by me. It was difficult to put down and it had many, for me, unexpected turns of events. Suzanne Collins manages to effectively balance the action vs the romance (you may remember that I generally speaking loathe romance novels) to keep t...
