Ah, I enjoyed this very much, helped I think by the very fine reading by Ian Carmichael, who had just the sort of well enunciated, deadpan voice one could imagine the story might be delivered in. I particularly enjoyed the rambling, stream-of-consciousness style of the narrative, the silly anecdotes...
too much info about bell ringing at the beginning i hope the reason for this becomes clearer-if i was readin this i should be tempted to skip read it.
