It's been a while since I read this series, so I need to have a re-read in order to give a proper review.
Sawyer is dead and haunting her dreams, Liz is feeling guilty and despondent (not to mention sleep-deprived), and then a baby appears on her doorstep. Like, literally. To cap it off, Ruthie shows up to tell her to take the baby to Jimmy. Yeah, Liz really wants to go hang out with her ex-boyfriend......
Thus I bid this series farewell. It's not that the Phoenix Chronicles are bad books; in fact, I prefer the writing here as opposed to Ms. Handeland's Nightcreature series. I just can't take anymore of the brutal metaphorical (and not so much) wounds main character Liz and her first love Jimmy Sanduc...
This has become one of my read immediately series. Unfortunately, I'm starting to get concerned about it. As one of the characters said, the good guys can never really win. The best they can hope for is to pretty much maintain the status quo. The only way they can really win is if Armageddon is trig...
