For fans of Marie Lu and James Dashner comes the first book in an epic new series. This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she'd have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded. The year is 2575, and two rival mega-corporations are at war over a planet that's little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra - who are barely even talking to each other - are forced to fight their way onto one of the evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit. But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet's AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what's really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it's clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she'd never speak to again. Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents - including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more - Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes.

Series: The Illuminae Files (#1)
This book is a delight! I was really unsure about this one because the story is told through emails, instant messages, military files and medical records. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get engaged with the story without more traditional prose to unite everything but I was so wrong. This...
The set up of this novel is pretty good. The cast too is varied in terms of gender. In other words, the heroine is not the only kick ass girl. Once I was able to "forget" that the lead was 17 (she so does not sound like it), the book worked. Quite enjoyable. Nice, quick read.
This was a truly fascinating read. I really enjoyed the format. From one page to the next you didn't know what you were going to get, which was kind of exciting. The story was fantastic. One consortium illegally colonized a planet for mining, and when the other consortium found out they launched...
Hellloooo crazy Space Opera + SciFi mashup. Right out of the gate I HAVE to start by commenting on Illuminae's formatting. This book has a strikingly imaginative layout and for that reason alone I gave it my all. Is that shallow? Maybe, but see for yourself before you cast that stone. Having said, t...
Just like Scythe, illuminae is another book I wanted to reread before the New year begins. I just love the character of Kady what a badass she turns out to be in this book, I loved that she wasn't winne and she did thinks for herself and didn't need a man to save her. I really also loved Ezra as w...
