I didn't love it, but I liked it a whole lot and by the end the characters made up for the boring-ish plot. I'd definitely read the next one if only to see more of Ciel with Billy. If the triangle drags on though, ugh!

Really enjoyed this new paranormal series - no werewolves, vamps, demons, or witches in here! Makes for a refreshing change. :)

In a Fix is a fast read, with sexy characters and a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. Ciel Halligan is an aura adaptor – she can take on someone else’s appearance, and actually be them – with a bit of work to observe mannerisms and habits. Just the right balance of magic and zany action, IN A FIX was a lot of fun to read. I love that Grimes plays with romance tropes and reality (Ciel does her best to find Prince Charming with a kiss, turns out kissing is just a lot of fun in general).

Loved the human chameleon premise and the characters were great. All except Ciel. The woman finds out her step brother and her big brother's best friend have been breaking into her office, interfering in her cases, and other sundry invasive behaviours, in order to keep her protected from the big bad...

I enjoyed this start to a series and am looking forward to watching this one play out. We have action... sexual tension ... and a triangle all in one book. ;-) The three main characters are all adaptors, human chameleons, and all use their talents for either spying or ,in the case of our heroine...

This book and I never quite connected. The premise was intriguing. The main character, Ciel, and her buddies are "adapters," people who take on other people's auras and thereby imitate their shapes, voices, and appearances.Let's start with what I liked about the book. I liked Mark, a man Ciel has ha...

Oh a urban fantasy with a snarky heroine, hot men (including the Vikings), and a fun adventure that made me laugh more than once? Oh yea... you know I loved it.In this world, Ciel is a sort of shifter. One that doesn't actually move bones and flesh to take shape per se, but "borrows" some energy off...
