This started out as a pretty good white-knight/damsel-in-distress type of story. Then about halfway in, that conflict is completely dropped, never to be seen again. This book could have been a 5-star, but just needed more. I liked the premise of the story, Hawk and Kate. All the parts were there, but at times the story felt like more like an outline rather than the finished product. Still, an enjoyable fast-paced read.
