Meh. I expected more. Inkheart had me hooked and was fun to read, even though it was very long. This book was great in the creative point of view, but it's just horribly long. If there was so much to tell about this wouldn't be a problem, but there is nothing interesting going on. And when something...
This second installment of the Inkheart trilogy is certainly a fine companion book to its predecessor. Dustfinger finds his way back home and to his love Roxane, but only to find things have changed—and not all for the better—during those lost years. Farid, desperately missing his best friend, gets ...
The characters from Inkheart find themselves in Inkworld. Favorite characters Meggie and Dustfinger are featured prominently throughout the text as new and old enemies make their lives challenging. Story contains plenty of adventure, suspense, magic and romance. The tale wraps up some lose ends whil...
Not quite as enchanting as the first, but fun all the same. I think I prefer to be in the Inkworld rather than the real world - a sentiment expressed by most of the characters, too, it seems. :o) I'm excited to read Inkdeath and see the Adderhead get what's coming to him!
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first book in the series. I'm not sure I can say exactly why. I listened to it on tape and it dragged along. While Brendon Frasier is one of my favorite actors, and his accents and voices were very well done, his narration style was lackluster, almost as...
I did dither over whether or not to read Inkspell as I found Inkheart a little slow in places but decided to go for it as I can't leave a trilogy hanging......I'm glad I did, because it's worth the read. As interesting a concept as Inkheart was (reading characters 'out' of books), Inkspell held my a...
Disappointing sequel to Inkheart. A lot of it traversed exactly the same territory, with several of the same characters in nearly identical situations as the first book. Even the villains were recycled. That being said, the good guys are still a pretty likable bunch.
I was not nearly as impressed by this one as by [book: Inkheart]. Inkheart took a fantasy story and made it real, Inkspell made reality into a fantasy story. The book is well written, and the characters three-dimensional, but I never disappeared into this sequel as I did into the first book in the t...
