It's All Nonsense is a series of eBooks. Each volume contains about 10 worthy posts, no filler, and commentary on each post, including what kind of feedback I got and any updates to the content.

My blog, and thus this volume of books, is a font of knowledge and wisdom covering personal lifestyle, self-help, parenting, self-improvement, business, career, entrepreneurism, music, writing, pop-culture, and physical, mental, and spiritual health.

So far.

But it is, strictly speaking, none of those. I’m not interested in being a self-help guy or a business/career guy and I already covered the entrepreneur/startup thing to death with ExitEvent and in other bylines.

What I’ve found though, having written publicly for 20-some-odd years, is that I write 500-1000 word chunks that people enjoy reading, and most of the time it makes them laugh or think, and almost all of the time it helps in some way.

Thus, I’ve determined that’s what my writing is, and I’m not interested in doing this any other way. Every time I try to conform my style to someone else’s needs, it’s a disaster.

So please enjoy these volumes. I love writing these pieces, I love putting together these books, and I totally dig hearing (good and bad) what you think of them. A big part of it is experimentation as well. It’s fun. And isn’t that’s why we’re all in this anyway?

Volume 1: June/July 2015

Your Life is Not Your LinkedIn Profile
Not everything you do has to be classified and categorized. Life doesn't fit neatly into manila folders or a directory structure. This is a concept I still struggle with.

The Kauffman Index of Startup Activity Is Flawed, and That's a Problem
It seems to me that exactly zero of these listicles serve any purpose other than to sell subscriptions, ad space, and all kinds of additional products and services.

The Continuing Maddening Saga of Twitter
We all want great television yet we all watch reality television. We all want to read great books but nobody buys books. We all love music that moves us but Pitbull.

Why American Titans Is Going to Act Like a Startup
Rock stars do not coach Little League, no matter how well that premise might work at the box office when you attach Adam Sandler and one of those Disney/Nick kids.

My Life Is 90% Failure, and I'm NOT Cool With That
Failure is not easy. Failure is embarrassment, heartache, headache, and grief all rolled into one suck sandwich.

Why My Kids Don't (And Won't) Have a Mobile Phone
My kids don't have a mobile phone for the same reason they don't have a car, a chainsaw, or a wet bar in the playroom.

Why I'm Banning the News
What we call news today is driven either by political agenda or the almighty dollar. They're not doing their jobs, and they're not even trying to mask it anymore.

The Summer Of Do For Yourself
Every time one of our kids asks us for something, we tell them to do it themselves. It sounds simple, but if you're a parent you understand that this takes some getting used to.

How to Stay Fit After 30
If you want to be in shape at any age after God's gift of youthful invulnerability dries up, you don't need a program, you have to reprogram.

How To Use Fear To Your Advantage: Part 1
We all have to deal with it, and if you want to succeed at anything worth doing, you can't ignore it. You have to beat it. Then you have to use it.
